Snapping Hip

This condition involves a snapping noise and sensation coming from the hip with certain activities. It may be painful, or painless. It is most commonly seen in dancers. It is caused by a tight muscle snapping over bone.

If you think you have this condition it is well worth getting it checked out by Dr. Amit. You should avoid any aggravating activities which may prolong the problem or allow it to become more painful. It generally will not get better on its own.

Treatment involves first confirming the diagnosis and excluding other problems. Options may include activity modification and physiotherapy. Usually this is sufficient to solve the problem.
