Osteitis Pubis

Osteitis pubis is pain arising from the pubic bones or the joint between the two bones, the pubic symphysis. The cause is not clear, but it can be brought on with overuse such as repeated kicking, or use of abdominal muscles such as with sit-ups.

It causes a dull ache in the groin which is aggravated by activity.

If you think you have this condition it is well worth getting it checked out by Dr. Amit . You should avoid any aggravating activities with may prolong the problem. It generally will get better on its own but can take many months of relative rest to settle.

Treatment involves first confirming the diagnosis which may involve x-rays, ultrasound or MRI scans, then establishing the underlying cause. Options may include activity modification, physiotherapy, and anti inflammatories.
